The purchase, announced in March, would turn No. 2 carrier AT&T and No. 4 T-Mobile into the largest wireless company in the U.S. If theA tone at Wednesday's Senate hearing is any indication, AT&T's ballyhooed $39 billion purchase of T-Mobile is hardly a done deal.
