Size matters. Enter the new Scion iQ, which measures only 120.1 in. from bumper to bumper, which means the car will fit within the wheelbase of our long-term BMW 760Li. Scion believes that the iQ will prove popular in congested metropolitan areas where parking spaces are at a premium.
We drove the iQ in such an environment: the streets of San Francisco, where sadly we didn’t have the chutzpah or horsepower to reenact the chase scene from Bullitt, but we did get from Point A to Point B within the city quickly, thanks to the car’s small size and nimble nature. The car features a tight 25.8-ft. turning circle, meaning it needs almost 16 ft. less space than the aforementioned BMW. And once at our destination, the little car managed to squeeze into parking spots that were previously reserved for motorcycles.
