Ending speculation about its U.S. prospects, Chevrolet confirmed minutes ago that its new-gen Colorado pickup will be sold here. Unfortunately, speculation about everything else will continue: The company refused to make any other announcements regarding the American-market version, although documents surrounding GM’s recent UAW deal revealed plans to invest $380 million in the General’s Wentzville, Missouri, plant, where it will add a mid-size pickup line. (We’ve caught camouflaged prototypes of an SUV version of the truck, and we’d expect that will be sold here, too.) The Colorado will be introduced elsewhere as a 2012 model; we expect ours to arrive as a 2013.
Official photos and information on the global version of the truck were released last week: You can get the full scoop here.
