For Porsche purists in need of an even more potent 4-seater, the Stuttgart company has introduced a GTS version of the Panamera at the 2011 LA Auto Show.
Using the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V-8 out of the regular V-8 Panamera, Porsche swapped cams, exhaust and intake, and retuned the ECU to bump the power levels to 430 bhp and 384 lb.-ft. of torque. A standard V-8 Panamera, for the record, makes 400 bhp and 369 lb-ft. of torque.
The more aggressive front fascia, side skirts and rear fascia of the new GTS are from the optional Sport Design package. Black high gloss trim isfound inside the car, as well as on the headlamps.
Sport suspension that lowers the car 10 mm improves the stance of the Panamera GTS, which also benefits from the larger disc brakes of the Panamera Turbo.
Two interiors are available for the new Panamera GTS. The standard cabin comes with leather, 18-way adjustable adaptive sport seats and a sport-designed steering wheel with paddle shifters. The optional GTS interior package adds Alcantara accents, contrast stitching and GTS logos on all four headrests.
The 2013 Porsche Panamera GTS goes on sale in the spring.
