Honda readies ninth edition of Accord.
Honda will unveil the styling direction of the next-generation Accord Coupe during the 2012 North American International Auto Show on January 10. The Accord Coupe Concept is set to convey “the dynamic and aggressive profile” of the new model, according to Honda. You’ll be able to judge for yourself first-hand, once the 2013 Honda Accord sedan and coupe go on sale in the fall of 2012. For the moment, Honda has not released any sketches or sneak peeks at the concept.
Plenty of Powertrains
The current Honda Accord coupe is available with a choice of 2.4-liter 4-cylinder or 3.5-liter V-6 engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual (a 6-speed is offered with the V-6) or 6-speed automatic transmission. Base Accord models equipped with a manual transmission can achieve up to 34-mpg during highway driving. Honda hasn’t released powertrain specs, but expect fuel economy to play a vital role in the engineering of the new model. A plug-in hybrid is also set to arrive in the 2013 Accord lineup – though it might be limited to the sedan, at least to start.
Expect plenty more details to be revealed during the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
