Nikon D5100

Nikon D5100:
Depended around the same 16.2-megapixelDX- Format CMOS image sensor and EXPEED 2 image processing asfeatured in the prosumer D7000, the D5100 offers similarly good imagequality in a more affordable, approachable chassis. ISO sensitivityrange is between 100 and 6,400 eqs by default, but can be extended ashigh as 25,600 eq if wished.

Compared to its precursor, the NikonD5100 makes a number of important changes, and it even includesvarious features which are singular amongst the company's DSLRlineup. Contempt being the company's first SLR to characteristic aslope-swiveling LCD display, the D5100 has a smaller overall bodydesign than that of the D5000. Unlike the previously camera'sbottom-swivel screen, the slope-swivel is a versatile plan thatgrants the live view feed to be seen when framing self-portraits.

The D5100 is even Nikon's 1st SLR to admit in-camera high dynamic range (HDR) imaging capacity. Asingle press of the shutter free catches 2 shots, with the 1st deliberately under exposed, and the 2nd over exposed. The 2 are then joined in-camera to afford a last photograph on muchbroader dynamic range than is potential in a single photograph.

Novel for the D5100 is a particularpersonal effects mode relevant to both yet and movie capture. Theselection of effects available includes what Nikon is calling NightVision mode, which grants hitting at ISO sensitivities up to 102,400equivalent, with a limitation that the resulting image or movie ismonochromatic.

Even catching yet photos at a rate of 4frames/sec, the Nikon D5100 can record HD video at results up to1,920 X 1,080 pixels, by using MPEG-4 AVCHD / H.264 compaction.All-time auto focus is usable in the D5100's alive scene and videoways, holding a confront sensing performance which can settle up to35 faces in a picture at the same time. Note that, although, that theD5100 characteristics an AF-S lens supports, therefore can't autofocus with screw-drive lenses.

The grip, when nice way graven withinfor the tablets of the fingers, isn't rather as deep as we'd as,causing our fingers to bottom out earlier they have a great keep onthe camera. I can generally settle my grip by enclosing the heel ofmy thumb around the rear, but the 3-inch articulating display makesthat more difficult, as it's pushed most of the controls far to theright on the rear, leaving little room for that maneuver. I keep itmore approximately as compared to most SLRs.
