Samsung has introduced a new range of long-zoom compact cameras to fit into its travel camera range, each with Wi-Fi connectivity.
The WB850F, WB150F and ST200F all feature long zooms and Smart capabilities for quick and easy sharing of images.
One of the interesting new features on board the cameras is the Auto Backup function, which transfers images to hard drives. Integrated free storage space from AllShare Play and Microsoft Sky Drive can also be utilised for accessing photographs anywhere in the world.
From any Wi-Fi hotspot, users can email photos or share them on social networking sites in just a few simple steps. The WB850F also supports GPS and Live Landmark capabilities to enhance journeys and giving the ability to find out information on local attractions and nearby locations. A Digital Compass also gives the users location.
Back to the zoom functionality, the WB850F features a 21x optical zoom, the WB150 an 18x zoom and finally the ST200F is equipped with a 10x optical zoom.
Sensor technology
The most advanced camera of the trio, the WB850F also features a BSI CMOS sensor technology, which Samsung claims reduces noise and distortion, even in low light conditions.
Each of the models features a 3 inch VGA AMOLED screen.
Full HD video recording is available on the WB850F, while the WB150 and ST200F can capture movies at 720p HD.
The Motion Feature function has also been included, which allows users to keep one element of a normal photograph come to life and keep moving, while the rest of the frame stays still.
Control
The WB850F and WB150F feature Full Manual Control, taking advantage of the integrated OIS. Smart Auto is also available on all models, which identifies and automatically selects the most appropriate of its scene modes. On-board editing is included on the ST200F.
Live Panorama, featured on all models, facilitates wide panoramic shots by sweeping the camera across a scene. Other fun features, such as Split Shot, Magic Frame, Picture in Picture and Funny Face are also available.
The Samsung WB850, WB150 and ST200F UK pricing has not been confirmed as of yet.
