Ever since Land Rover unveiled the sporty looking Range Rover Evoque Coupe at the Paris Motor Show last year, people have wondered how much it will cost. We now know as Land Rover announced the cars pricing yesterday.
The 2012 Range Rover Evoque will have a sticker price starting at $43,995 for the five-door and $44,995 for the coupe, including the destination and deliver fee. It will hit U.S. showrooms in the fall.
Perhaps more impressive, the Range Rover Evoque manages to achieve an EPA fuel rating of 28 mpg highway and 19 mpg city. Land Rover says this fuel economy is the result of making weight savings a primary objective in the development of the Range Rover Evoque
Its engineers have applied a range of advanced lightweight materials to make this the lightest Range Rover model ever, with the five-door starting at just 3,680 lbs. Weight-saving technologies can be found throughout the bodyshell and chassis of the Range Rover Evoque, including a steel body structure with over 18% Boron/high strength steels in key load-bearing areas. Additional features include polymer and composite front fenders and tailgate, an aluminum hood, roof panels, front lower control arms and front/rear suspension knuckles, and a magnesium cross car beam.
Each vehicle uses approximately 35 lbs of recycled parts including the headliner, center console, wheel arch liners, air cleaner, cooling fan and shroud, air ducting, side under trays, parcel shelf, engine cover and subwoofer box. In addition, the metal interior trim on the center console and dashboard is produced from recycled aluminum. (Finally those drink cans have found a home, I guess.)
The all-new Range Rover Evoque is powered by a 240bhp, 2.0-liter Si4 gasoline engine. It combines direct fuel injection, turbocharging and twin variable valve timing and delivers performance equivalent to a V-6 engine, according to Land Rover. It has an estimated 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds.
