With the growth in Internet radio it’s sometimes easy to forget that satellite radio continues to be a popular choice especially for those who travel long distances away from home and want to always be able to listen to their favorite stations.
According to Subaru so many buyers of its Legacy and Outback models chose the SiriusXM satellite radio service last year that it is now making it standard on all 2012 Legacy and Outback models. Buyers will get the first four months subscription included.
If you haven’t kept up with the latest SiriusXM news it now broadcasts more than 135 satellite radio channels of commercial-free music, sports, news, talk, entertainment, traffic, weather, and data services to over 21 million subscribers. SiriusXM also offers NavTraffic, which provides access to detailed traffic information and incident data regarding construction, road closures and accidents so that drivers can determine traffic speed and estimate travel time along their route. Subaru’s all-new navigation system uses the data to re-route drivers around traffic incidents so they get to their destination.
SiriusXM radio will be optional on all other Subaru models. Customers purchasing Impreza and Forester models equipped with the all-new factory navigation system will also automatically receive a 4-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio and NavTraffic services – after that it costs $12.95 per month for radio service only and $16.94 with NavTraffic.
