Success for Dacia Lodgy Glace

Success for Dacia Lodgy Glace:

Dacia Lodgy Glace

A few weeks ago I wrote about the ludicrously named Dacia Lodgy Glace ice racer which has now claimed its first podium position when it came third in the opening race at Val Thorens, France, driven by Evens Stievenart.

By its very definition ice racing demands the ground should be covered with the slippery stuff, but there was a distinct lack of it as wintry conditions had yet to settle in the French Alps.

Stievenart was quoted after the race as saying, “I continued to drive as though I was on ice, but a racing driving style would have been more appropriate. That’s a lesson for the future. The positives are that I’ve scored points and been able to get an idea of the Dacia Lodgy Glace’s potential. I am third in the provisional Trophée Andros standings, so that’s satisfying. We will work as a team to ensure that Alain Prost [who finished eighth- IA] catches up with the leaders to challenge for what promises to be an extremely competitive championship.”
