Intel's X25-V, X25-M and X25-E solid state drives to retire :: Posted by THRASHER2: "After years of faithful service, the consumer-oriented X25-V, X25-M and enterprise-grade X25-E solid state drives are set to be discontinued by Intel so as to make enough room for the newer, faster and 25nm NAND-equipped 320 Series and 710 Series models.
The first ones to go will be the 32GB and 64GB X25-E SSDs which will be available for orders until July 11th, and will ship up until October 3rd. Volume production of 100GB, 200GB and 400GB 710 Series drives will begin in July so Intel expects a smooth transition.
The 40GB X25-V and the 80GB, 120GB and 160GB X25-M drives will be on the ordering sheet until August 15 and will continue shipping till November 15. The 320 Series line-up, which includes 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 300GB and 600GB drives, has been released almost two months ago.
