Rightware debuts the Basemark ES 2.0 benchmark for mobile :: Posted by THRASHER2: "Finnish company Rightware has now introduced the successor of 3DMark Mobile ES 2.0, its newest benchmarking software which can be used to measure the graphics capabilities of smartphones, tablets and other embedded devices.

Named Basemark ES 2.0, Rightware's latest creation features two OpenGL ES 2.0-based game tests (Taiji and Hover) and also provides texture filtering tests for checking out visual quality.

'Today, it’s all about differentiation in mobile devices, and performance of the user interface can be seen as a significant differentiator as graphical content becomes more complex and visually rich. We’re happy to announce the Basemark ES 2.0 to tackle many of challenges our customers face today,' said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Rightware. 'Basemark ES 2.0 is the tool for device manufacturers who want to ensure that they choose the right silicon and build their device only with the best hardware.'

Basemark ES 2.0 is now available for licensing.
