Toyota Names 500 Finalists in "100 Cars for Good" Program: "Aiming to mobilize deserving nonprofits, Toyota Motor Company invited qualifying organizations to apply to the '100 Cars for Good' program via their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/toyota), from March 7-21. The Japanese automaker then brought in an independent panel of philanthropic and social-responsibility gurus to judge the submissions. After much deliberation, 500 finalists, representing all sectors of the nonprofit world (i.e., animal welfare, arts, education, environment, health and human services) have been chosen.

Now, the fate of the finalists lay in the public's hand. Even you can vote. In fact, we encourage you to. Public voting, in fact, began on May 9 and is scheduled to take place for 100 consecutive days. Each day, five finalist organizations will be profiled on the Toyota Facebook page, allowing the public to vote for the nonprofit they believe is the most deserving.

Toyota will hold up their end of the bargain, awarding one vehicle per day, through August 16, when voting ends. Winning nonprofits will be able to choose from among seven vehicles: the Prius, Tacoma, Highlander Hybrid, Siennaor Sienna Mobility. In addition to a new vehicle, Toyota will also give each '100 Cars for Good' program winners a complimentary six-year 100,000-mile Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement, helping them to keep their new Toyota running like new for a very long time to come.

Speaking on the announcement of the '100 Cars for Good' finalists, Jim Lentz, President, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc. said, 'Congratulations to the nonprofits selected as '100 Cars for Good' finalists, and to all of those who applied for consideration. We look forward to seeing the public voting and the end results - these vehicles being used to help local communities across the country in the weeks, months, and years to come.'¹
