Aston Martin will build just 150 examples of its V12 Zagato at prices from $530,000 plus local taxes.

The news comes in the same week that fresh from its first bond issue it declared that it was considering an initial public offering for its shares. Although the IPO isn’t imminent, chief executive Dr. Ulrich Bez said the company had not appointed advisors but “would be ready if the time is right.”

It is also expanding its dealer network in China from four to 12 within the next two years.

And in a further development, Dr. Bez also revealed that it had extended its agreement with Ford, which produces Aston’s V8 and V12 engines in a dedicated factory in Cologne, Germany, for “four years plus.” In recent months Aston had been talking specifically with Daimler about the possibility of using AMG engines in the future, so it seems as if these talks haven’t born any results.
