The Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet has a top speed of 231 mph, making it the world’s fastest convertible with room for four onboard. Mercedes-Benz vehicles don’t get much wilder than the products crafted by the tuning wizards at Brabus. Yet even for Brabus, this is one crazy ride.
The displacement of the 5.5-liter V-12 has been bumped to 6.3 liters. This car’s power figures look more suited to a Boeing jet. There is 788-bhp available at 5,500 rpm, and 1,047 lb-ft of torque (electronically limited to 811 lb-ft) that arrives at an incredibly low 1,100 rpm. According to Brabus, the 800 E V12 Cabriolet needs only 3.7 seconds to sprint from 0-62 mph. Do we need to remind you to leave your favorite baseball cap (or toupee) at home?
The rear wheels are ten inches wide, and to cover them Brabus has installed carbon-fiber rear fender flares that add 2.4 inches to the width of the E-Class Cabriolet. A new front bumper assembly has also been installed, complete with sinister-looking LED lights. Air vents are located behind the front wheels, for a DTM racing car look and feel. To bring things to a halt, 12-piston aluminum calipers have been fitted to the front wheels.
For approximately $684,000, Brabus will custom-build your very own 800 E V12 Cabriolet. And in case you want to do a little comparison-shopping, remember that a standard 2011 E350 Cabriolet starts around $57,000.
