Porsche 360˚ App: Gyrate Your iPad/iPhone for 360-Degree View During Hot Lap

Porsche 360˚ App: Gyrate Your iPad/iPhone for 360-Degree View During Hot Lap: "

Forget Angry Birds and other goofy, time-wasting apps that beep and boop at you while you accomplish pointless tasks—Porsche has created Porsche 360˚, an app we can feel good about using to kill some time. The 360˚ app beckons with an immersive in-car experience that takes clever advantage of the built-in gyroscopes in Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches. Users “ride along” in the passenger seat of a Porsche 911 as Dutch racing driver Jeroen Bleekemolen wheels it around the Zandvoort track in the Netherlands; the direction of the “camera” can be controlled through a full 360-degree range by tilting and turning the iPad. The only real bummer is that the app is currently only available in the Dutch iTunes store, but Porsche plans on releasing more 360˚ “experiences” soon. Hopefully the app will migrate to other markets as more in-car editions become available. In the meantime, check out what we are missing in the promo video below.
