What you see here is the redesigned 2013 Acura RDX, although the company technically is calling the car on display at the 2012 Detroit auto show a “prototype.” The second-generation crossover goes on sale this spring, and is expected to be significantly different from its predecessor, which was small, frisky, and athletic—attributes that made it fun but also came at the expense of ride quality and comfort.
