Our spy photographers have caught a Chevy Spark wearing a new face. This bit of automotive nip-tuck comes just in time for the Spark’s mid-cycle freshening. While it’ll be new in the U.S. when it arrives in 2012, the current Spark has been on sale in Europe, Asia and other markets for a couple years now. So the refresh is well timed for the U.S. introduction.

The Spark seen here has a larger grille that stretches further into the front bumper. There are new fog-lights and the lower air intake has been slimmed down. About the only radical change we can envision is what engine might power the U.S.-spec Spark. The current 67-bhp 1.0 and 80-bhp 1.2-liter 4-cylinders might be too underpowered for our roads.
