Unforgettable TV commercials are few and far between. Over the years Volkswagen has probably produced the most memorable car commercials. Who hasn’t seen the Darth Vader ad for 2012 Volkswagen Passat that aired once on this year’s Super Bowl? It has received almost 42 million views on YouTube.
Kia’s commercials, featuring its fun-loving hamsters, are also among the most popular car commercials on YouTube. If you watch the MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday (Aug 28) you’ll see the newest commercial for the refreshed 2012 Kia Soul. It should appeal to those who enjoy video games and is appropriately titled “Share Some Soul”. It’s a 60-second spot featuring the return of the hamsters and this summer’s hottest song, “Party Rock Anthem,” by electro-pop group LMFAO.
If you don’t care to watch the MTV Awards you can still see the ad — as has become the case with many high-cost commercials you can view it before it airs — on YouTube:
Personally I don’t like “Share Some Soul” as much as Kia’s earlier hamster ads but then I guess I am not the target audience, even though I do like the Soul.
