The 2012 911 GT3 R is the last 997 model to be released in the GT3 version and this particular one gets the four-litre boxer engine with 500 hp, which is an extra 20 hp thanks to a new aspiration system. New steering wheel paddles have been included with a throttle blip on downshifts for better control when braking.
A new traction control system experimented in 2010 has been thrown into the Porsche 911 GT3 R package and a softer anti roll-bar has been developed to reduce understeer. The new but last GT3 R model will be available from November and will cost about 304,500 euros. An updated kit for 2010 and 2011 models costs about 43,100 euros.
