Will Apple sell nearly 150 million iPads in 2015?

Apple's iPad is poised for tremendous sales growth in the coming years, a new study from research firm Gartner has found.
According to the research firm, about 63.6 million tablets will be sold worldwide this year, representing an increase of 261.4 percent over the 17.6 million that consumers bought in 2010. Gartner expects Apple to own 73.4 percent of the market this year, selling 46.7 million tablets. Android-based tablets will trail far behind with 11 million unit sales this year, the research firm says.
However, it's Gartner's estimates on iPad sales in 2015 that might prove most impressive. The research firm said that it expects Apple to sell a whopping 148.7 million iPads in 2015. Android-based tablet sales, on the other hand, will hit 116.4 million, Gartner says. All told, 326 million tablets are expected to be sold in 2015.
