Today, Samsung has officially released the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Kernel source code for the Galaxy S II. Samsung’s flagship Android smartphone has only started to receive official ICS update since last week. It is interesting to note that Samsung has released the source code way before every single Galaxy S II has received the much awaited and anticipated official Android 4.0 update.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is without a doubt one of the most sold Android device in the world. It also bypassed the insanely popular iPhone 4 in terms of sale in certain parts of the world. Die hard Android lovers absolutely adore Samsung’s flagship Android device. They look forward to it’s successor the Galaxy S III which is reportedly going to be released on May 22 in London. Simply head over to the Samsung Open Source Release Center and search for the Galaxy S II using it’s model number, which is GT-I9100. The kernel source code is going to be in a .ZIP file. Download that and you’re good to go!
