Epson launches the 15.6 inch Endeavor NJ5500E:
In Japan, the local business Epson has been busy showing off its latest offering, a 15.5 inch laptop that goes under the name of the Endeavor NJ5500E. This is a laptop that sort of stands on the borderline between laptop and ultrabook without knowing what side to be on.
It offers the user plenty of decent specs and features from the Intel i7 processor, to a wide choice of storage solutions including a decent sized SSD. But this is brand that is not up there with the likes of Sony or other major brands outside of Japan, maybe that is about to change with the Endeavor NJ5500E!

The Endeavor NJ5500E has a nice sized 15.6 inch LCD Anti glare WXGA display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and with a built in 3 mega pixel web camera. It is going to be powered by the highly capable Intel Core i7-2670QM processor with 2.2 GHz and supports the Intel HM65 Express Chipset for smooth graphics and video playback.

There is a useable 2GB of DDR3 RAM available and a choice of storage from the 320 GB up to 640 GB 7200 rpm hard disk drive (HDD) or the lighter and slimmer 128 GB solid state drive (SSD). It will also come equipped with a DVD Super Multi Drive, a pair of Super Speed USB 3.0 ports this is a first for Endeavor PC, it has IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi compatibility as well as HDMI output for external display connections.

According to the Epson website, the Endeavor NJ5500E will be running the Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (SP1) operating system, although it was thought that it could be picked up running theAndroid 2.3 Operating System!
This is currently on sale in Japan, but it is expected to find its way onto the US market within six months where it will have a starting price of around $860.
