Don’t start applying watercolors to “Iggy,” your beloved pet iguana. The Flying Lizard team is all about Porsche power. The Sonoma-based racing team is ready to unveil a pair of Troy Lee-designed paintjobs ahead of this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The No. 80 and No. 81 Flying Lizard Porsche 911s have either a candy metallic blue or metallic orange base coat, along with the names and flags of the 28 Porsche drivers who have won the race woven around each car.

“The livery commemorates the heritage of Porsche at Le Mans, starting with drivers Hans Hermann and Richard Attwood, who secured the first overall victory for Porsche in 1970,” said Flying Lizard VP of Marketing, Jennifer Hart. “The 911 is an ideal canvas for Troy Lee’s beautiful tribute to this iconic race.”

The two Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs will be officially unveiled during pre-race scrutineering on June 6. This is the first time the highly successful Flying Lizard team has fielded two vehicles at Le Mans. “This design exemplifies the effort that Flying Lizard puts into every aspect of their race preparation, and shows why Lizard drivers have won the American Le Mans Series GT championship for the last three years,” said President of Porsche Motorsport North America Jens Walther

The green flag for the Flying Lizard team, and the rest of the entries for this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, drops at 3:00 p.m. local time (9:00 a.m. EST) on Saturday, June 11.
