The winner for the Road & Track Trophy at the 2011 Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, for “The Car We’d Most Like to Race,” is a 1974 BMW 3.5 CSL owned by Henry Schmitt of San Francisco.
The car raced in Group 4A, 1973-1982 IMSA, GT, GTX and AAGT cars. Originally, the car was raced in the 70’s by Hans Stuck and R&T Contributing Editor Sam Posey. The award was presented Sunday night after the conclusion of the races by former editor-in-chief of R&T, Thos L. Bryant.
