Google Nexus Tablet With A Price Tag Of Up To $200 Is A Done Deal

Google Nexus Tablet With A Price Tag Of Up To $200 Is A Done Deal:
The tablet wars are getting stronger with each passing quarter. In just two years, Apple has revolutionized the post-PC era. The tablet revolution started with the original iPad in 2010. Apple’s third generation iPad went on sale today and demand is through the roof. Manufacturers from all over the world release their own tablets in order to gain a fraction of iPad’s market share. Not one has tasted absolute success, yet. However a new iPad contender is set to be released soon. The first Google Nexus Tablet which can have a price tag of up to $200, is now a done deal.

For months, analysts such as myself have been predicting a change in the worldwide tablet market. While the iPad is a market dominator, it’s base price point of $499 is well above the mid-range market. Amazon has already tapped the mid-range market potential with it’s 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet. Amazon’s tablet is nominally priced at $200. This price point allows customers to have the convenience and portability of a tablet without breaking the bank, per se. Tablets developed and similarly priced by HP, Samsung, Sony, ViewSonic etc have failed to steal any market share from the iPad, but the Kindle Fire has been gaining traction comfortably. This is proof enough that potential exists in the mid-range tablet market.
As is the norm with future Apple products, rumours about an iPad Mini have been circulating for quite some time now. It is believed that Apple is gearing up to launch an iPad Mini in Fall of 2012 to specifically challenged the Kindle Fire in mid-range tablet market. However we must keep in mind that these are infact just rumours, an iPad Mini might never materialize at all.
Recently it has been rumoured that Google is producing a Nexus Tablet. It was then revealed that the internet search giant has appointed ASUS as the manufacturer of this tablet. The tablet is going to tout a 7-inch screen. It will reportedly be powered by an OMAP 4 processor, which is logical because the Android mobile platform is pre-programmed for OMAP support. An employee of the supply chain for this device has also confirmed this report. He reveals that Google is working on a “tablet of the highest quality”, which basically means that the Mountain View company hopes to take over the iPad. It is also being said that Google wants this tablet to be moderately priced, from $150 to a maximum price tag of $199.
It is expected that Google will unveil the Nexus Tablet at CTIA Wireless show which starts on May 8, 2012. Nothing more is known about this tablet as of now, but we’ll keep you in the loop as soon as more details come in.
