In less than 24 hours from now, the wait will finally be over. Apple lovers in the initial 10 countries will be able to get their hands on the brand New iPad as early as 8 a.m. in the morning. The initial 10 countries consist of the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. This is the first time when stores will be opening up this early to accommodate the huge crowds that line up outside in order to grab a new Apple product. It’s utter, sheer madness.
It was previously leaked from a couple of sources that for the New iPad, Apple will be opening stores at 8 a.m. on launch day which is March 16, 2012. Today Apple gave a press release which confirmed what the sources had leaked. The company has already said that consumer demand for New iPad is off the charts, which leaves no doubt in the fact that people will still line up in huge numbers outside Apple Retail Stores around the globe.
The New iPad is no different in design than it’s predecessor the iPad 2. The dimensions are approximately similar, so is the shape and size. It does however come with a brand new dualcore A5X processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and a quadcore GPU which takes gaming on the New iPad to a whole new level. Apple has also added a brand new 5 megapixel iSight camera which is capable of recording full HD 1080p video at 30 frames-per-second. The cherry on top is Apple’s breakthrough display technology, the Retina Display. This display touts a resolution of 2048×1536 at 264 pixels per inch.
The pixel density is so high that the human eye can’t discern an individual pixel, hence making the Retina Display one of the major reasons of getting a New iPad. Support for 4G LTE on AT&T and Verizon Wireless has also been added, without compromising on the legendary 10 hour battery life that the iPad has boasted about ever since it first came out in 2010.
Apart from Apple Retail Stores in the U.S., Best Buy, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart will also be selling the iPad on March 16. Apple will make the New iPad available in an additional 23 countries on March 23, 2012. These countries are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
By the looks of it, the New iPad is going to be a success. When it was first announced, many disapproved of the fact that Apple didn’t make any cosmetic changes. This time around, the success will solely be based on the technology Apple has put inside it’s new tablet. Take my word for it, the technology speaks for itself.
