The Samsung Galaxy S III release is being anxiously awaited by millions of Android fans around the globe. Samsung is set to unveil this device in the next couple of months. today it has been learnt that the Korean manufacturer has already started circulating disguised units to carriers. The carriers are testing Galaxy S III on their respective networks before it is to be publicly released and made available for purchase around the world.
It looks like this time around, Samsung is really working on keeping it’s product under wraps and free from any sort of leaks before the public release. This level of secrecy is usually attributed to Apple, which goes to great lengths in order to protect the anonymity of it’s unreleased products. A Korean business publication reveals that Samsung is delivering heavily disguised Galaxy S III units to carriers, which are going to carry out various tests. The disguise is said to be “lunch box like”.
Samsung has put in a lot of hard work in to it’s upcoming device. Surely it won’t be appreciative if details leak before the official announcement. Leaks at this point in time can prove to be very harmful, as they literally kill the anticipation that builds up in public prior to the actual announcement. The public forms pre-conceived notions about the device based on the information that leaks, these notions can prove to be very harmful for the company in terms of sale. So obviously, Samsung is leaving no stone unturned.
However, it’s not been smooth sailing for Samsung. A purported official press shot of Galaxy S III was leaked earlier last month which revealed subtle details about the device as well as pegged the release event date on May 22, in London UK. A week later, another alleged image of Samsung Galaxy S III started making round on the internet. Apart from that, various sources have given their input regarding features and specifications of Samsung’s upcoming flagship Android smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is rumoured to boast a 1.5GHz quadcore Samsung Exynos processor with at least 1GB of RAM. It’s said to tout an impressive 4.8-inch full 1080p HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio as well as an 8 megapixel rear camera. 4G LTE compatibly is also going to be on board. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will come pre-installed on the device, which will be capable of running Android 5.0 Jelly Bean when it releases later this year.
