Samsung has introduced a new compact system camera into its NX line-up, with the NX200 featuring a 20.3 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, 100 millisecond advanced autofocus and HD video recording.

The new camera replaces last year's Samsung's NX100, bringing a more highly populated, newly developed 20.3 megapixel sensor, quicker autofocus speeds and a lighter and smaller body which is made from aluminium.

The NX200 boasts 100ms advanced AF, along with seven frames per second continuous shooting with the ability to move from frame to frame in just 400ms.

Covering ISO range from 100-12800, the NX200 is designed to shoot in low-light situations. i-Function lenses, which were also introduced last year are compatible with the new camera, with a standard 18-55mm lens packaged in the box.

Ten different Smart Filters are available on the camera, which can be activated via the i-Function button on the lens. Filters include 'Magic Frame' technology which allows users to add 13 different frames, including magazine covers and holiday themes to their images.

Featuring a Smart Panel, the NX200 includes a 3 inch VGA AMOLED display. The panel includes a Hot Key which can be used to jump easily between key functions without scrolling through menus.

Another new feature of the camera is Panorama function. The mode allows users to take lengthened shots of large objects, or convert them into 3D scenes. Sound Picture has also been added, which allows for a snippet of sound to be recorded to accompany a still image.

Four new lenses have also been added to the NX line-up. A new 16mm pancake lens joins a 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, a 18-200mm superzoom lens and a 85mm f/1.4 portrait lens.

The Samsung NX200 UK price is set to be around £699 with the standard kit lens or 20-50mm lens. It will have a UK release date of late September.
