Nikon P7100 premium compact unveiled: Nikon P7100 premium compact unveiled

Nikon has unveiled a high performance Coolpix model. The P7100 is the successor to the P7000 and features a new tilting 7.5cm (3 inch) LCD monitor and raw shooting.

The P7100 features a 7.1x zoom NIKKOR lens with 28mm to 200mm focal lengths (35mm equivalent). It can also shoot in raw file format and uses a fast EXPEED C2 processor.

The lens has two ED glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration and fringing at longer focal lengths, and a Natural Density filter for increased exposure control. The camera also features a large 10.1 megapixel 1/1.7inch sensor. The sensor is designed to facilitate a wide dynamic range and provide excellent low-light performance.
