Urban Strategy in designing Civic Center and Media Library Architecture Design

From an analysis of the situation and noting the potential of urban location and responsibility for action, the proposal responds by generating an urban gap in the center of the property from which to generate and articulate the other pieces.

The placement of the volumes of library architecture design and the shade house, which run longitudinally to the south and north of the apple respectively, allows the appropriation of space, creating a central public square is related through Avenida del Libertador Axis with the Squares Velez Sarfield and General Paz, which acts between the ball of the property existing buildings and new proposal of civic center and media library architecture design.

This central space of this library design is configured as the core of the proposal, as central place that concentrates the various activities required and is related through the two major boulevards proposed different spaces that appear between the existing buildings and ultimately to the adjacent blocks .

media library center

Looks like the great public square in this library architecture design, on the one hand is related to the city and talks directly with the two available places, forming a route through the city in the NS direction in which we discover different situations that characterize each urban area, and the other plays the central core of the proposal, urban space that becomes part of the Axis Centennial, integrating the different elements of the proposal as EO.

Mechanisms for implementing the different volumes Design

The volume of the library architecture design is located south of the block from the Civic Center and its counterpart dematerialized “the shade house,” north, capturing and characterizing the center of the property.

The media center is configured as a “building bridge” of 100 meters long, which rises from a system of arcades on the ground floor, exercising the role of the square door, framing the space next to the shade house, but hinder it.

modern media libray interior design

The library architecture design volume is a longitudinal, fully permeable due to its configuration and its materiality. Ground floor entrances are located. The hall is directly related to the outside. The transparency of fences, open plan, and the continuity of materials between the inside and outside the dialogue established with the immediate environment, so that it acts as a lobby hall of the great linear park.

As a conceptual expansion of the shelter in the media library appears to be related to it acting as a stage for the extension of activities.

Gallery / Central Square / Umbracle are interrelated and form a set in the heart of the proposal extends in both directions of the axis east / west through the two boulevards that run tangent to these volumes edificatory resulting in a linear park interrelating the different spaces will appear between the existing library buildings to reach the adjacent blocks, where there are the Mall, West, and East Cultural Centre.

The media library Architecture Design

The volume of the library architecture design is located south of the block from the civic center. It is a linear building, which runs lengthwise, enclosing the park on its way, becoming part of it, and interacting with other activities and buildings across the boulevard on which it is situated.

media center master plan

The building library architecture design is implanted in the territory rising over a succession of frames, leaving an open floor, which enhances the permeability and fluidity of tours through the civic center. This series of frames arranged each 5.00 meters act as elements that shape the project, solving the functional organization, the support structure and the simplicity and order sought in the resolution of the image of the building.

In civic center places the ground floor access to the media center and multipurpose room with a minibar that relates directly to the outside, offering outdoor activities. In the space between these two volumes is generated outside the hall, which plays the role of “gate” or central hall at the civic center area. Through these approaches on the ground floor leads to the two floors of the media center where they develop different activities in the same literary and bar located on the top floor.

media library master plan design

The plant of the media library architecture design is configured as an open plan, promote flexibility in it, preventing future changes of use, and enhancing the characterization of space by users. These two plants are directly related to each other, and the hall through the big gap that crosses the hall to his full height.

In the last plant is the literary bar. This space is proposed as a gazebo in the park, with an extension on the terrace which visually relates to activities in the square and shade house.

So the media library building is configured as a flexible and dynamic building, which offers activities above and below it, and that relates from the inside out thanks to the materials: metal and semi-transparent volume dialoguing with the environment kindly.
