The Ginetta G60 has been released and has been developed from the Farbio GTS project. The two-seater model sees the return of a centrally-engined Ginetta after 20 years when the G32 model was made with a Ford engine. The new Ginetta G60 will have a production run of 50 models and will be sold at a price of 68,000 pounds - currently about 75,500 euros.
The Farbio project was reworked by Ginetta technicians and while maintaining the tubular chassis, they modified the driving position and some of the body panelling to keep weight down. The G60 is a pared back, minimal model with nothing like ABS, power steering or electronic drive assist to be seen.
Weighing in at 1,100 kg, the Ginetta G60 comes with a 3.7-litre V6 engine with 310 hp from Ford. The unit is normally used on the Mustang, and also currently equips the race-ready Ginetta G55. The G60 comes with a six-speed manual, also from Ford, with a Quaife rear differential. Sprint time to 100 km/hr is four seconds and top speed is 265 km/hr.
