HP bring out Mini 1104 for pro users:

HP have brought out a new version on the Mini 110 and Mini 210, it is the Mini 1104 and has been developed with business and education users in mind, it is slightly more expensive than its close relations, but it does come with a whole host of premium features such as the Trusted Platform Module 1.2 embedded security chip.


As with other professional style computers in the HP, there is a wide range of options, so although the price is stated as $399, this is the starting price and once the buyer has been enticed by the full menu of upgrades and options the price can soon rise.

The Mini 1104 comes with the 10.1 inch diagonal LED backlit WSVGA widescreen display with a 1024 x 600 of pixel resolution with an integrated VGA web camera. It will be powered by the latest Intel Atom N2600 1.60 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB processor supporting the Intel NM10 Express and with graphics provided by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600. There is a capacity for up to 2 GB 1333 MHz of DDR3 SDRAM, as well as up to 320 GB SATA (5400 rpm) hard disk drive (HDD) storage.

With a wide range of networking features starting with the Atheros 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, integrated Realtek Ethernet (10/100 NIC) and there is the option to go for the handy Bluetooth 3.0 + HS too. Other features include three standard USB 2.0 ports, there is no HDMI port but there is an external VGA monitor port and a useful media card reader is also included. When it comes to size the dimensions of the Mini 1104 are 10.55 inches (W) x 7.52 inches (D) x 0.89 inches (H) (26.8 cm x 19.1 cm x 2.28 cm) and the weight starts at 2.78 lb (1.26 kg) according to set up.

Finally there are a couple of power source choices from the 28Whr 3 cell battery or the 6 cell (55 WHr) high capacity Li-Ion that HP say will offer up to nine hours of power, but as usual this will depend on what the user is asking the netbook to do.
