The newly released Pavilion dm4-3000 from HP is one of those laptops that offers so many options and upgrades that is difficult to see where an average set up would be. So in this case are using the suggested HP package as base, but this is not by any means the top of the range or even the entry level machine.
It is about to go on sale in Japan during next month with a price tag of around a $1,000, so it’s not cheap either and in reality you would expect an HP laptop to be anything else. Especially as they are classing this is as an entertainment laptop with the studio standard sound system with Beats Audio and two HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofers.
The Pavilion dm4-3000 has a 14 inch HD BrightView LED back lit Display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and there is the HP TrueVision HD web camera with integrated digital microphone built in. It will be powered by the Intel Core i5-2450M 2.5 GHz processor, while the graphics and video will be coming from the Intel HD 3000 graphics feature with up to 1.65 GB in total memory available.
Internal storage is 6 GB of RAM DDR3 but it will support up to 16 GB of DDR3 and there is a the reasonable sized 750 GB SATA (5400 rpm) hard disk drive (HDD). The network interface offers a full range of services such as the integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Intel 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and there is Bluetooth with WiDi available too.
Other features include the VGA and HDMI ports, a standard USB 2.0, two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports and there is also a SuperMulti DVD Burner for sharing data on a disc. The weight of the dm4-3000 Starts at 1.97 kg that is with the 6 cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery pack installed, while the dimensions are 33.8 cm (W) x 22.5 cm (D) x 3.2 cm (H).
According to HP, the Pavilion dm4-3000 will go on sale some time in February with a price tag of around $1,036.
