Toshiba has always gone for the high end of the market and with the introduction of the new R731/W5UE notebook; it is safe to say that there is no change there. The R731/W5UE is a premium notebook offering the buyer the highest quality, but as ever this sort of quality comes at a price. The R731/W5UE is a nice looking piece of kit and will work for professionals, those in education and of course gamers too as it offers the high end specs expected by these buyers.
The new R731/W5UE notebook will be running the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Operating system and it comes with a nice sized 13.3 inch LCD display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and it comes with a built in 1.3 mega pixel web camera. It will be powered by the top of the range 2.80 GHz Intel Core i7-2640M processor and it will support the Intel QM67 Express Chipset, so it should be safe to say that watching video and playing games on this Toshiba should be second to none.
To help cope with the work that such a machine is going to be asked of, it comes with a large 8 GB of DDR3 RAM memory and for storage Toshiba have chosen the thin and light 256 GB solid state drive (SSD), which should be capable of meeting all of the user’s storage requirements. Other features installed in this fully loaded notebook will include a BD drive, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, wireless Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and of course, they have not forgotten the HDMI port, which is essential when connecting to a larger screen for playing games or watching movies.
Currently the dynabook R731/W5UE is being sold in Japan for 241,800 Yen, which works out at around $3,108.
