While many of the main laptop manufacturers have been designing laptops that are thin and light in order to compete in the new ultrabook range of computers, MSI have gone the other way by bringing out its latest gaming laptop the GT783.
Here is machine with the weight and size expected of a fully loaded laptop, gamers will love the way that the quad core i7 cpu and Nvidia GTX 580M gpu handles even the most sophisticated games with apparent ease. This little piece of gamers heaven comes with a nice sized 17.3 inch full high definition LED back light matte 1080p display with a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions and it comes with a built in HD 30fps @720p web camera.
The laptop is powered by the top of the range quad core Intel Core i7 Processor with 6M Cache at 2.00 GHz. While the all important graphics are provided by the top shelf Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M graphics card with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory. It comes with 16 GB of DDR3 RAM but is upgradable to 32 GB should the buyer require it. The same goes with the storage, it starts off with 640 GB with options to go for a 1 TB or 1.5 TB 7200 rpm hard disk drive (HDD) and there is also the Intel 128 GB solid state drive (SSD) as an optional choice.
Networking is covered by the built in 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Gigabit LAN and there is even Bluetooth 3.0+HS installed too. Other features included an HDMI and VGA video out port, two fast USB 3.0 ports, three standard USB 2.0 ports and useful SD (XC/HC), MMC, MS (PRO) and xD card reader. When it comes to size, this laptop is no ultrabook with dimensions of 428 mm x 288 mm x 55 mm and it weighs in at 3.9 kilos with the 9 Cell Li-Ion (7800 mAH) battery installed.
This gamer’s machine will have a starting price of around $2,300.
