No Italian Drivers in F1. What?

No Italian Drivers in F1. What?:

No Italian Drivers in F1. What?

It was sad to see the Caterham team drop Jarno Trulli from its driver lineup for the 2012 season. The 37-year-old Trulli has been a Formula 1 driver since 1997 when he began with Minardi. He has been replaced by 27-year-old Russian Vitaly Petrov, who was left without a ride when F1 champ Kimi Raikkonen signed on to drive for Renault.

We understand these are tough business decisions and so it goes, but British motorsport magazine Autosport’s website points out that this will be the first season since 1970 that there won’t be an Italian driver in F1 car as the Grand Prix season begins…and a tradition ends.
