American TV personality and eager car collector Jay Leno helps us to know more about the frightening and ultra-exclusive Venom GT with this clip taken from his “Jay Leno’s Garage” website.
The video is quite self explanatory and covers most topics about this impressive sports car manufactured by US company Hennessey Performance Engineering, but we will just quickly recap some of its most significant and scary figures: it is powered by a 6.2-litre twin turbo V8 producing 1,200 hp coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, and weights only 1220 kg. Hennessey claims that the car can achieve a top speed of 440 km/h (275 mph) with the proper gearing and in perfect conditions whereas the 100 km/h mark is achieved from standstill in only 2,9 seconds.
The figures above are about the Venom GT’s most extreme configuration, but there are also ‘milder’ versions of the car, in 725 and 1,000 hp powersteps. However, just to give you the idea, the 1,200 hp version is priced at a cool 1,000,000 $.
