The first official pictures and technical details of the Volkswagen E-Bugster Concept have been released. The model will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in just a few hours, and is based on the New Beetle Ragster Concept that VW showcased at the 2006 NAIAS. In comparison to that concept, the E-Bugster’s roof line has been lowered by 7.4 cm, the side windows are smaller and the design of both front and rear windows has been heavily revised. The model is powered by an electric motor generating an output of 114 hp and 270 Nm of peak torque, fed by a 315 kg lithium-ion battery package fitted under rear seat and trunk floor.
