A mule of the face-lifted Kia Sorento has been photographed while undergoing some cold weather testing. The pictured prototype still wears quite some heavy camouflage and has been spotted carrying out the test alongside an Audi Q5 and a Mercedes GLK, which might hint at the fact that the South Korean engineers are currently working to make the new Sorento up to the standards of its most prestigious German competitors.
The pictured mule sports new LED running day lights and, probably, newly designed head lamps too. The new front bumper is still hidden, but we would expect it to be quite similar to what we have seen on the new Kia Cee’d. Same goes for the tail lights.
As for the engine line-up, it isn’t clear whether the current units will be confirmed or not. Powertrain options for the ongoing Sorento’s generation include a 2.4-litre 4-cylider CVVT petrol engine delivering 175 hp and a 2.2-litre CRDI VGT diesel engine producing 197 hp, both of which can come in front- or all-wheel drive configurations.
