Ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, some pictures posted on Carscoop have revealed how the new version of the Audi A3 will look like. The new three-door hatchback variant is just one of Audi A3’s new range, which will include the five-door Sportback, a two-door cabriolet and a four-door saloon. It is the first Audi to use the new MBQ platform, the Volkswagen group’s new modular transverse engine platform, thus anticipating the new Volkswagen Golf VII.
The styling of the new A3 is an evolution of the current generation: the grille and all the front seem to take its influence from the A1 and the A6 while the rear light clusters bring it in line with the current and already mentioned A6. As for the interior, the A3 sports a very clean and stylish layout thanks to the MMI infotainment system which controls and directs all the high-tech gadgets with minimal use of buttons.
The A3 will get a fresh line of engines that includes the VW Group’s new 1.4 l TSI with cylinder deactivation technology and the 1.6 l TDI, together with a range of models with more powerful engines. Audi will be at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show also with RS4 Avant, A6 Allroad e TT RS Plus.
