If you watch the upcoming Daytona 500 race on Sunday you’ll get to see the first TV commercial for the 2013 Ford Mustang being broadcast. But, just as most car company’s previewed their Super Bowl ads ahead of time, Ford has gone and posted the ad on Youtube:



Ford initially unveiled the “Mustang Inner TV” ad earlier today to its most fervent fans on its Google+ hangout.


The 2013 Ford Mustang commercial shows how customers can unleash their “inner Mustang” by depicting changing Mustang styles to suit the tastes of a wide range of consumers. Ford says the new ad builds on the success of the Mustang Customizer, which has generated more than 4 million digital Mustangs built since launching last fall. Ford is heavily into social media and claims that there has been a 62 percent increase in the size of the Mustang Facebook community. In addition, Ford is promoting a smart phone app that has been downloaded more than 200,000 times; and 25 percent of the Mustang digital customizations occurred via this mobile app.

“These results confirm the potential we saw in developing a social platform that lets Mustang owners have fun with the brand, interact and share,” said Scott Kelly, Ford Digital Marketing manager. The Mustang Customizer allows users to build the Mustang V-6, GT, Boss 302 or GT500 of their dreams by choosing from custom colors, trims, wheels and decals. The site also offers a printable parts list that can be taken to a dealer.
