In this video we can take a sneak peak of the new Mercedes SL 63 AMG showcased during the presentation of Mercedes AMG Petronas’s Formula 1 single-seater. The high-caliber drivers featured in the video are Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, who will also drive the Mercedes W03 at the Formula One World Championship.

This new AMG roadster, which will be officially presented at 2012 Geneva Motorshow, mounts a 5.5 l V8 AMG BiTurbo and according to Mercedes-Benz Passion, the M157 will be available in two different power steps: one of 537 hp, the other - intended for the Performance package - of 564 hp.

Mercedes SL63 AMG sports a maximum torque of 800 Nm, does 0-100 km/h in 4.3 sec, and an has electronically-limited maximum speed of 250 km/h. With the Performance package - which translates in an additional cost of € 4280 - efficiency improves and the numbers are slightly different: 900 Nm max torque, 0-100 km/h in 4.2 sec and a maximum speed of 300 km/h. The new V8 BiTurbo will also enable the new SL63 AMG to limit consumption to the degree that it’s going to use up to the 30% less than the previous one, which was equipped with a 6.2 l naturally aspirated V8.
