With Intel readying the all new third generation Ivy Bridge range of processors for a delayed launch in June, laptop manufacturers may have been slightly caught out with their launch dates for their new Ivy Bridge powered laptops. This applies to Samsung; their all new series 7 laptop, the 17.3 inch NP700Z7C-S01US has appeared on some online retail websites who are accepting pre-orders with an estimated delivery date in April. However, with a delay on the processors the expected delivery will probably be set back a few weeks.
Never mind that, as the new 7 series is a smart looking laptop that comes with a large 17.3 inch LED backlit display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and it comes with the 1.3 mega pixel HD camera with an integrated noise cancelling microphone.
It is powered by the third generation of the Intel Core Ivy Bridge i7-3615QM processors, which are clocked at 2.3 GHz although it can go up to a 3.3 GHz maximum with the Turbo Boost. There is support for the useful Intel Hyper-Threading technology and video is managed by the Intel high definition 4000 graphics core. Internally there is a large 8 GB of system memory and a massive 1 TB hard disk drive (HDD) and there is an additional 8 GB of flash memory available should it be required.
Other important features are the two fast USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI video output, a multi-format memory card reader and the Super Multi DVD dual layer burner. As usual, networking is taken care by the built in Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and unlike many other laptops, Samsung have added Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. The Samsung Series 7 NP700Z7C-S01US comes with a powerful 8 cell Lithium Polymer battery and will be running Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.
The series 7 will be available at the end of April or when the Ivy Bridge processors become available, at a starting price of around $1,500.
