The Samsung Galaxy S II is a phenomenal smartphone. Android lovers need no introduction. Galaxy S II was Samsung’s flagship Android smartphone last year and it reaped in substantial benefits for the Korean manufacturer. This smartphone happens to be one of the most sold Android devices around the globe and it continues to sell even to this day. AT&T Galaxy S II Skyrocket owners in the USA have waited for far too long for an official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Lucky for them, the official Android 4.0.3 ICS ROM for Galaxy S II Skyrocket has leaked and is now available for download.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is Google’s latest update to the Android mobile operating system. Google has added some really amazing features in this update, but it’s actually sad to see that a huge number of Android devices are not compatible with this upgrade. Luckily, the international version of Samsung Galaxy S II and the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket are compatible with it but have waited for months just to receive an official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Samsung has begun a phased roll out of Android 4.0.3 for Galaxy S II international version since March 15, whereas AT&T users in the USA are still waiting to receive the update for their network.
There’s a reason behind this delay. The update for international version is rolled out by Samsung, whereas updates to carrier locked smartphones are subject to carrier testing. AT&T continues to test its official Android 4.0.3 ROM for Galaxy S II Skyrocket but for those who know how to tinker with their Android devices, there’s good news as the official ROM has been leaked and is now available for download.
It is not yet known when AT&T plans to officially rolling out Android 4.0.3 to Galaxy S II Skyrocket users. Initial reports regarding leaked ROM indicate that there are no major problems with this build regardless of the fact that AT&T probably has some more tests to run on it. As I previously mentioned, those who know how to flash a custom ROM on their Android device via PC can get the leaked official Android 4.0.3 ROM for Galaxy S II Skyrocket from the link given below. Flashing custom ROMs on an Android device carries it’s fair share of risks, which include but are not limited to bricking of device and invalidation of device warranty. Flash a ROM only if you explicitly know how to, or else don’t mess with something you don’t know anything about. Remember, you’re responsible for your own actions and experiments!
