The small Transformer netbook by Acamar:
It is debatable where this device fits into the market, is it a small netbook, tablet or a bit of both? More to the point is if there is an actual market for an 8.9 inch netbook that transforms into a tablet with a price starting at $460.
The Acamar Transformer is not cheap and its size is questionable, there is no keypad instead the user will have a left and right button, with a small optical sensor in between. When it comes to specs and features this machine is basic.

However, this is an interesting little netbook and it does come with an 8.9 Inch Capacitive Screen offering a 160 degree visible angle and with 1024 x 600 of pixel resolutions. There is even room for a built in 1.3 mega pixel web camera.
It will be powered by the Intel Atom N450 1.60 GHz single core processor with graphic support from the Intel GMA 3150 card. There is a nice sized 2 GB of DDR3 RAM available and a 120 GB SATA hard disk drive (HDD) for storage purposes.

Networking uses the standard 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, an Ethernet port and there is Bluetooth 2.0 as well, while connectivity offers a couple of standard USB 2.0 ports, the HDMI port, a 3.5mm port and there is support for a Trans Flash (TF) card offering up to 32 GB of extended storage.
Size wise this machine is small at 10.2 inches (260 mm) x 5.7 inches (145 mm) x 1 inch (26 mm) and weighing in at just 1086 grams (2.4 pounds) even with the 3000 MAh 7.4V Battery installed that the manufacturer claims can offer up 2.5 hours of run time.

The Acamar Transformer is about to on worldwide sale with a starting price of around $460! The question is will anyone be tempted by it?
