We had reviewed the BitDefender Internet Security 2011 recently and today we have another free tool from BitDefender for making your systems more secure- BitDefender Security Scan. It is a freeware which is a handy and reliable utility designed to provide information on the speed, stability and security issues which may affect your system. You can keep your Windows updated as well improve the speed of your PC by checking for issues specially in registry

Security Scan can check your computer for viruses, spywares, invalid registry entries, missing security patches from Windows and also outdated security software. Once it completes the scan you can see the security threats for your PC.

Features;

• AV QuickScan – scans your PC for running viruses, spyware and other online threats – usually in less than a minute


• Registry Tuning – scans your PC for invalid registry entries that can cause slow downs, freezes or crashes.


• Update watcher – checks for Windows updates which have not been applied yet.


• Security status – checks for the existence and status of security software on your system.


• Scheduled Scanning – sets up recurring scans to ensure your system is safe. QuickScan will automatically scan your PC on startup.

Although the tool detects the issues, you cannot directly fix them using the tool, but nevertheless it provides sufficient information needed to fix it.
