Kia originally branded themselves as an economical car company, and thanks to effective design and execution (like the Optima and Sportage), they’ve leapt into decidedly more trendy territory.
And rather than rest on their newfound fame, Kia will be trying to one-up itself by showing off its latest concept, a rear-wheel-drive, four-seat sedan. As Kia’s Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, has stated, “I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter.”
Details are scarce at the moment, but as is typical from Kia’s recent auto show concept reveals, this concept aims gauge audience reaction, and to show what could be done. Consider it corporate design and engineering muscle flexing.
“No matter from which perspective you look at it, this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off,” says Schreyer.
