Ford Officially Confirms Transit Production in Kansas City on Heels of UAW’s Leaked “Confirmation”:

Not content to let the UAW spoil its Transit van announcements, Ford has followed the union’s confirmation with a statement of its own. The van will be built in Ford’s Kansas City plant, which currently assembles the F-150 and Escape. Ford’s press release refers to the van as the Transit, and we expect that this will be the name used in advertising. Based on the company’s trademark filings, trim levels will likely be T-150, T-250, and so on. This would follow the example set by Ford’s E-series vans, which are badged E-150 through E-550. We expect to see the U.S.-spec Transit make its debut at next February’s Chicago auto show, as the Windy City traditionally plays host to important truck and van announcements.
