Instagram App For Android Is Better Than iPhone One, Say Developers

Instagram App For Android Is Better Than iPhone One, Say Developers:

Most iPhone and iPod touch owners are quite fond of Instagram. It is a service that not only allows you to take pictures and add beautiful effects using filters, but it also supports direct posting to a host of popular social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. This allows Instagram users to take quick photos of objects they like, or even themselves, add an amazing effect and immediately have it shared on social networks of their choice.

Up till now Instagram has only been available for iPhone and iPod touch. However that is soon about to change as the Instagram App for Android comes to life. Developers of the Instagram app believe that the Android one is far better than it’s iPhone counterpart.

The SXSW 2012 is underway in Austin, Texas. This annual conferences always brings amazing announcements from startups as well as other companies. Kevin Systrom of Instagram took the stage at SXSW 2012 and revealed that over 27 million registered users populate the user-base of their service.

This is a very big achievement considering that fact that all 27 million of them are iPhone or iPod touch users as there is no Instagram app for any other mobile platform. In December last year Instagram only had 15 million registered users. Within a year their user-base has nearly doubled. Kevin Systrom attributed much of the recent progress to Instagram being selected as Apple’s App of the Year as well as the release of iPhone 4S.

Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom from Instagram then showed off the Android app of this service to the attendees. They say that in some aspects this app is better than it’s iPhone counterpart. The Instagram app for Android is currently in private beta however the developers claim they will release it for the public very, very soon. They have not revealed whether the iOS app will be updated as well in accordance with the initial Android release.

Millions of Android users around the world will surely rejoice upon hearing this piece of news. With the ever growing popularity of Android devices globally, Instagram will prove to be a success on this platform as well. The best part is that Instagram is free to download from the App Store and will not cost a dime on Google Play as well, when it is finally released to the public. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a release in the next couple of weeks.
